Bear hugs, that is :o)

This book by Nicholas Oldland came through the Library the other day, so I had to bring it home!

It's a cute story, and I love the illustration style

What's not to like about a hugging bear holding a flower?

And this

Lucky rabbit!

Of course Amazon has better pictures with their Look Inside feature.

Lucky rabbit? That is if the "bear hug" isn't the kind they use in wrestling matches! *chuckles*

P.S. If that last picture were viewed from the perspective of being at a furry convention, two things come to mind: 1) the rabbit thinking: "You want me to go back to your hotel room for what?!? or 2) "This bear fursuiter neither showers nor cleans his fursuit!" *snickers*

:D It's hard not to put these books in any furry perspective...

Wow.... I sure wish they DID just walk around and hug other critters!

If I was that bunny, I'd have the same panicked look to my eyes. I'm about to be eaten!

heh, there's a moose that gets hugged as well, and he has the same 'yikes!' look

He even hugged creatures that bears have been known to eat. The bear could meet the roundest little rabbit, and he would just stop, smile, and give it a great big hug.

And then the bear starved!

Jokes aside, though, it seems like a cute book. Though I do agree with what people have said about the rabbit, he looks less than enthusiastic about being hugged by a bear!

:o) The rabbit is completely panicked, unless that's surprise at such a warm cuddle.

Until I looked again, my first reaction to the illustration was "Oo, [livejournal.com profile] mondhasen would love that!" =:)

Well, I'm pretty sure he does even now. ^_^

Some illustrations just bring out the d'awww from me :D This was a simple book with a simple story but the way the drawings were done and presented was nicely done. I love the Library for access to soooo many wonderfully illustrated works (and Amazon and half.com for the ones that really captivate me!)

I really liked the illustration style and have ordered more of the author's books through the Library system. The story had an odd but nice ending and I hope the others will be just as fun.
