Through the looking glass...
Jul. 17th, 2016 08:31 am...that glass being my front window!

We had two fawns about 30 feet from the front of the house this morning.

All the pics link to the originals.
Lucky timing on my part! There was an adult in the side yard earlier but I didn't have my camera with me... not that it mattered: she jumped up and trotted off as soon as she saw me.

Date: 2016-07-19 12:13 am (UTC)Mind, I'd be perfectly happy to see some tallears in the back yard too. ^_^
I always find it hugely gratifying to be judged and deemed unthreatening by buns, as here would also seem to be (similarly) the case. They realise you could be a threat, but aren't, and they're okay with that. ^_^

Date: 2016-07-20 12:11 am (UTC)It's nice you have that fence break to allow the animals to traverse your yards. I tore down some of my old fencing so that the deer in particular could pick their ways carefully through my now woodlands unhampered by wires.
As far as threats, it's always nice to be accepted as another animal just out and about... I watch the deer out back and generally act aloof upon seeing them. I watch them and then look about for dangers and follow noises, and damned if they don't grow easy with me and just nibble and graze. I walk away from them and look back casually to see how they react. If they bolt, that's fine: I'll see them next visit :o)
