Looks like lj has adopted the Facebook/Twitter models, now by invading timelines with 'promoted' content. How pathetic is it that these accounts pay to boost their popularity by posting, not just advertising, among your 'friends.'

This appeared today in my friends' feeds on here and bunny-plush, about two entries down. At first I thought I hit a damn advertising link accidentally, but when I saw it was in both journals that little 'promo' box became clear.

Another slap for me not paying for an account; another nail in the coffin for lj, me thinks.

There has to be a setting in my journal that welcomes this activity, as it occurs on all devices I interface with. Otherwise, the more it happens the more it will desensitize me...

(I've had also free account always and not seen promoted posts in friends feed - maybe they're harassing more those who have some time had paid account? Or then I just view friends feed too seldom...)

Heh, I wondered, too, if this was due to my giving up my paid account. What's rude, too, is that I didn't need to sign in to see these: if I just went to mondhasen.livejournal.com or my other account without signing in and went to the friends option, the promoted post was among my friends' posts.
