I saw the cutest little plush foxes today at Babies'R'Us! They're made by a company called Lambs&Ivy which I presume is a take on the *Mairzy Doats lyrics. The company makes a full line of baby bedding and accessories, all of which looked absolutely adorable (some can be seen on their website, here). Ah, to have grandchildren to set up a nursery for! :D

I have no recollection of this rhyme before High School, believe it or not :o)

Heh, I was totally into nonsense words and general gibberish when I was in junior high and high school, and this song was one of my favorites. Sometimes I'd even sing it out loud, over and over. (I imagine that was quite annoying.) It wasn't until I was out of college, though, that I discerned the lyrics were actually real words, and that it actually made sense! After that, I couldn't hear the nonsense in it anymore. :(

Speaking of nonsense songs, my dad used to sing this one to me a lot when I was a tot. Complete with sound effects!

*chuckle* It's quite furry, too. ^^ Speaking of Kay Kyser and crew, Dad also sometimes affectionately called me "Ish-Kabibble." I always thought that was just nonsense, too. I didn't find out until the 2000s that that was a member of Kay Kyser's band!

I think what caught my eye right off was that it looked so much like the fellow in the StupidFox comic strip ;o)
